SUNDAY, OCTOBER 12
Enjoy a full, hot breakfast before walking the Freedom Trail with a local guide following in the footsteps of those who shaped America during the Revolutionary War. Take in iconic sights, like the Boston Massacre Site, the Old South Meeting House, Granary Burying Ground, and more. MONDAY, OCTOBER 13
Next stop: Vermont, the “Green Mountain State,” where tree-covered mountainsides dot a charming landscape of quaint villages with traditional, white steeple churches. Arrive in Woodstock, “the quintessential New England Village” with its beautifully resorted Georgian homes and a covered bridge. We will visit the impressive 165-foot deep, mile-long Quechee Gorge before arriving at The Lodge at Spruce Peak in Stowe — our home for the next two nights. (B, D)
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14
Explore a little of Austria and a lot of Vermont on a von Trapp Family History Tour. Get a behind-the-scenes look into their day-to-day operations while exploring the property. At the Cold Hollow Cider Mill, watch and learn how fresh cider is produced the old-fashioned way, via rack and cloth press; a process that has been passed down for generations. Enjoy some leisure time discovering Stowe before joining the group for dinner. (B, D)
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 15
We are New Hampshire bound! Soak in the lovely New England countryside as we journey through the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Stop to explore the Rocks Estate, home to the North Country Conservation & Education Center. Learn about the history and importance of maple sugaring in the region and visit a virtual tap room. This afternoon we will experience the highest peak in the Northeast via the Mount Washington Cog Railway. The Cog is the first mountain-climbing cog railway in the world, and is located in the heart of the majestic White Mountains region. We will spend the night at the Omni Mount Washington Resort. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16
Today we make our way to Fort Williams Park to view the Portland Head Light- the most photographed lighthouse in America and the oldest in Maine. Following, we will SPLASH into history on a fun and fully-narrated duck boat adventure through Portland, Maine. We will then arrive at our last hotel on the tour, the Canopy by Hilton Portland Waterfront, and enjoy some free time in beautiful Portland before dinner. (B, D)
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17
Take in all that Kennebunkport has to offer on this last full day of the tour. We will visit Walker’s Point, the home on a rocky promontory that’s a summer residence to the family of the late President George H.W. Bush. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure before joining our fellow travelers for a special farewell dinner! (B, D)
