SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 9 (TARANGIRE)

Rise to the African sun as the day begins with a drive to the third largest national park in Tanzania– Tarangire. We will go on game drives the whole day on the savannah plains in search of zebras, elands, antelopes, impalas, gazelles, and the rare species of kudus. See large herds of elephants and  massive baobab trees– both well known highlights of Tarangire National Park. Later in the afternoon we will transfer to our overnight stay located in stunning Lake Manyara National Park.  (B,L,D)

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 10 (NGORONGORO CRATER)

After breakfast at our lodge, we will depart for the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater with its 5,000 foot high walls is like a natural zoo with the highest concentration of wild animals. We will descend into this massive crater as early as possible to attempt sightings of rare animals like black rhinos. If we are lucky, we may even spot the BIG FIVE (the African savanna elephant, cape buffalo, leopard, lion, and black rhinoceros) in one day. Enjoy the vast skies of Africa while relaxing on the patio of our lodge to close out the day.  (B,L,D)

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 11 (NDUTU PLAINS/SOUTHERN SERENGETI)

Following our breakfast at the lodge, we are off to Ndutu plains and Southern Serengeti. The Serengeti is a vast plain that stretches 11,583 square miles from Kenya to Maasai Mara game reserve. The Serengeti has over 2 million hoofed animals, 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, 550 cheetahs, and 500 bird species! We will drive to the Lake Ndutu area where the action takes place during the months of December through March. A picnic will be served and the afternoon will be spent experiencing this spectacular nature on a safari viewing. (B,L,D)

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 12 (NDUTU PLAINS CALVING SAFARI)

This day will be spent at the Ndutu plains where it all happens as the wildebeest migration gives birth to thousands of young calves every day. The Ndutu Plains are vast with green pastures and rich mineral soils that the herds enjoy feasting on. We are sure to see thousands of wildebeests accompanied by zebras and gazelles. We may even get a rare chance to witness some real wildlife action as predators engage the herds. Our evening will again end relaxing fireside in expansive African wilderness.  (B,L,D)

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13 (SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK)

Rise and shine! Today we drive a short distance to Naabi Hill Gate where we will enter the famed Serengeti National Park for a day of photo safari around Seronera Valley and the Moru Kopjes. Have those cameras ready! (B,L,D)
